Flood gates & storm gates Coastal

Rising sea levels and climate change has increased flooding dramatically over the last 10 years with new sea defences being constructed around the UK coast line incorporating new flood gates and storm gates.

Defence Doors Ltd have designed and manufactured a bespoke range of watertight steel flood gates and stainless steel storm gates to be built directly into these new concrete wave walls or alternatively a free standing structure erected between existing wave walls. These floodgates and storm gates are designed to withstand wave loads generated by heavy seas and impact loads from water bourn debris whilst protecting coastal towns from tidal surges.

Flood gates inland

Heavy and persistent rain fall creating run off and flash flooding is now common place in many lowland areas. As an Environment Agency approved supplier for flood defence gates Defence Doors Ltd have a designed range of steel floodgates specifically for these inland flood defences. Manufactured as single leaf floodgates up to seven meters wide or double leaf floodgates up to twelve meters all operable by a single person taking only seconds to close and lock with telemetry monitoring available for remote locations.

Options available include frames cast into reinforced concrete walls, secondary fixed units bolted to existing structures or free standing frames cast directly into a base slab.

Stop logs

On domestic applications or where steel floodgates are not suitable a range of demountable stop logs are available. Manufactured in UPVC with a light alloy frame these stop log assemblies are available in increasing heights of 200mm. All systems are bespoke covering pedestrian doors as single units up to 2.5 meters wide and multiple units with removable centre posts for longer applications.

Manufactured to a BSW Kite mark these floodgate alternatives are light weight units and very quick to deploy.

Blast resistant doors and windows

Terrorism is now a very real and global threat, Defence Doors Ltd design, and manufacture and install a wide range of hinged and sliding blast resistant doors for petro-chemical installations, military and government facilities and civilian applications, these blast doors are designed for explosion containment and personnel protection. Frequently used on MoD munitions storage facilities, munitions manufacturing facilities, CCR buildings and petro-chemical installations These products are available for export and have already been supplied to several countries in the Middle East

Cell Doors and Prison Gates

HM Prisons, Immigration Detention Centres and Young Offenders Institutes across the UK require secure holding facilities. We offer a nationwide supply and fix service for all facilities supplying cell doors, prison doors and security gates all manufactured to HM Prison Standards.

These security requirements now extend to Police Stations, Government Courts and recently new Stadiums and shopping centres requiring similar temporary holding facilities. The HMP detention doors and prison gates have been utilized on these facilities.

Export service for jails and prisons

Cell door production has now extended into the Middle East with our worldwide export service. Defence Doors Ltd supplies UK manufactured cell doors, prison doors, jail doors and grille gates to overseas facilities. The experience and knowledge of many years manufacturing for the UK market with such high security requirements now offers a unique service extended to overseas governments.
